I am an access student and I am doing this blog as part of my course work on Infectious Diseases. Having compiled an assignment on the MMR vaccination, I think people need to be made aware of how serious conditions such as measles are. Measles is a highly-contagious infectious disease that has become asssociated with the past but is making a comeback due to the recent decline in the uptake of vaccinations.
I believe that parents should be more aware of the possible outcomes and risks involved with the combined MMR vaccine. We should make an informed decision and not be lead by the government or health professionals.
ReplyDeleteFrom my rsearch on infectious diseases, i found that through a lack of education and media hype, many children where not vaccinated and where left with long effects such as deafness. I myself did not have my son vaccinated agaisnt MMR through the controvasy. Having looked at the reasearch i now know there where no evidence to support Andrew Wakfileds claims.
